<h1>JAVASCRIPT ERROR!! RELOAD</h1>

Group: alt.discuss.webtv.technical Date: Tue, May 18, 1999, 3:33pm From: ulTRAX@webtv.net problems mappingfile://rom/data Wh ile we have had outstanding success mapping the HD file structure... we have had almost no luck mapping file://rom. Ok, we have lots of sound, image, and page files... but very few other files file://rom/Data/ClientArg.html file://rom/Data/ClientArg.txt file://rom/Data/Colors.txt file://rom/Data/modem_firmware.dat file://rom/Data/modem_loader.dat file://rom/Data/null_loader.dat Yet somewhere in ROM must be files containing things like Power-Off codes... which can be used without the HD being on. So where are they? Below is one URL that is problemmatic. If we access it as is, we get an error saying it contains info can't use. If we add the backslash we are told it can't be found. We can access dat files from the HD.... not that we learn much. So what's the trick of accessing these files? "" action="file://rom/Data/null_loader.dat/"

It is possible that they are simalar. Going throgh the viewer files helps you get an understanding of the client-side as a whole. Like looking at a painting from a distance. https://members.tripod.com/poetv/WebTV%20Viewer/

This is the only file I found that did this. TMP Store showed the "Web Plus Retail Demo Screen".

It passed pretty fast, and is off to a good start. I have a question how was file://rom/data/clientarg.txt found? It has some interesting stuff in it.
Group: alt.discuss.webtv.technical Date: Wed, May 19, 1999, 4:45pm From: ulTRAX@webtv.net Re: problems mappingfile://rom/data I had similar page up at my site... a very large file off the HD. In html form parts of it load sequentially as they are downloaded... so there might be delays with instructions like BG Coloe and the sidebar. These instructions must be deep into the code.
