LOL... I couldn't resist. I had a post by that title back in June '98. Sadly we have not made much progress since then.
OK sure we've done well getting lists of image and sound files.... but not much else. Yet.... when we think of all the basic functions the box must perform.... from MIDI, to creating LOGS, to streaming media, to encoding and decoding TCP/IP packets.... where are these instruction files?
It's probably safe to assume that ALL files not on a HD are ROM files of some sort.
file://rom/data/ was found almost three years
ago.... and we have found little since. The recent discoveries of
file://rom/JS/parameters.js file://orm/phone/xxxxx and
file://rom/fonts/xxxxx
should be a sign that there probably are ROM files like this for ALL the box's basic functions... but since there's no index... we have to guess file names.
But file://rom/JS/parameters.js might provide a clue.

Maybe some of the box functions I was looking for are on the Plus HD. These URLs are interesting. But I'm wondering if the MOD stands for module or just a file extension for music files.

Most likely those are module files..... I just couldn't undertand why WebTV would name music files that way not talking bout the extension but the 999 and 144..... Then there is the fact where they are located...

There are some addiitional script pages in file://disk... by that I mean non-html pages. Question remains where similar files are on the Plus2.

Compared to the file://fdisk/ directories... the MODULES files are filled with more jibberish than we're used to. But that doesn't mean they don't contain potentially useful URLs and file names that could lead elsewhere.
