My posts are from Jan 98.... and I'm not sure if DEMO was new then or had been around for years. Anyone remember when DEMO was FIRST discovered? I once did a NG search at DejaNews and the earliest references I found were for Dec 97. I think most of us assume DEMO is an intrinsic part of the network.... my question was when was it discovered? If you go back that far.... what's the story? As for the other special accounts... there's every reason to believe they were there form the beginning but I don't recall anyone ever PROVING they were there until Mattman first stumbled on FLASH in summer 98. Just because demo and the other accounts wasn't found untill 98 doesn't mean they wasn't their way before that time Look at the tricks break in untill then we had no clue their were flashrom urls but they have always been around since webtv Demo will always be their no ? about it! I liked the code where u pushed Switch user and then Goto real quick and pushed in wtv-tricks:demo from the Switch User screen and got Demo. Yeah,those were the good ol' days... Matt was a real contributor to this group: DOOM, Flash,all that good stuff.. He didn't waste most of his time flaming people either. You posted as if you were around long enough to know.... so do you or are your speculating? LOL..... three years ago Matt and I were on opposite sides of the REACT vs MADNESS war. We both did plenty of flaming. I would think that demo was probably created as a way to display what webtv was all about in store displays, without having to have fully active accounts on each and every store display. flash was probably about the same for showing it's kid friendly too, they were probably both around from the beginning or shortly after, Redialer probably came a little later on down the road, it redials automatically every time it times out right... which was probably a solution to having to connect every time someone wanted to check it out. It's all speculation though, the only ones that would know for sure would be the techs that set them up for whatever purpose they set them up. And I want to thank them for setting it up cause the folders and sig areas were funnier than hell when they were the big thing.
