Subject: Yundt Springboard Meeting Date: Mon, 14 Sep 1998 22:15:35 -0700 From: "karsten voermann"To: CC: Hi Richard, Patrick mentioned that you would be going to the Yundt meeting about Springboard that is happening tomorrow, so I wanted to check in with you briefly beforehand. There are two points that I was hoping you would be able to discuss with the netops folks: 1. Springboard service as originally defined; this is not dead! The Asia team was asking for all of the work we did on springboard (headcount estimates, plans, etc.) because they may have to do a trial. We can't tell netops not to worry about this yet, as it still has value for us. 2. Export service (to be used in the demo box program, which is not a complete 180 degree turn away from springboard, but rather the European evolution of it); does netops view this as the same as the 'springboard' service, or not, and will it get 7x24 support as it becomes integrated by Graham Orndorff into the normal support rotation? (details on this are in attached email ). This is pretty important, since with the demo boxes, it is pretty unlikely that we will get 60d notice of trials during downtime, though we could be pretty draconian with box receipients to make them avoid Wednesdays for demos if we HAD to. I know these are both kind of spins, but they are also true! Sorry I couldn't be in MV to help, Karsten. Karsten Voermann WebTV Networks 650 470-4984
